A Journey from Friesland to So. Carolina
The Stabyhoun is a delightful treasure originating from the Friesland region of The Netherlands. We were first
introduced to this breed when we lost our second Flat-coated Retriever to cancer. Having always loved the retriever
way with children and other dogs, we were looking to stay with that kind of dog temperament. After searching through
The Encyclopedia of Dog Breeds by Juliette Cunliffe, we found the Stabyhoun and fell in love with the looks
as well as the size! Our first Staby is named Fryske with the call name of "Echo".
She travelled from Holland in July 2004 and has been our guide to learning more about the Stabyhoun! In September
of 2008, a wonderful addition to Fryske Point was born in Holland. Sante Yfke fân Bûten Út,
with the call name of "Tulip", joined our family to form a strong second leg to our breeding program.
She and Echo have become best friends and partners in crime!
If you are keen on getting your own Staby, please read more about the character and history of the breed.
We are sure that you will fall in love also!

Breeding for the Future
The beauty of being a part of the Ameri-Can Stabyhoun Association is having the support of fellow breeders, both here and abroad.
With such a rare breed, we need to work closely together to maintain genetic balance and good health in the breed.
Fryske Point takes the health and conformation of the breed seriously. We make annual trips to Holland to stay in touch with our "mother" club, the Dutch Association
of Wetterhoun and Stabijhoun, the NVSW. Our mission is to breed physically, mentally and temperamentally sound Stabyhouns that conform to the Dutch Breed Standard.
On this site, you will learn more about our current litters and can watch the pups as they grow.
We will also post pictures and information about the sire and the dam.
Feel free to browse through some of our past litters to see how careful we are to raise, nurture, and socialize our puppies.
